I plan on taking my Mosin 91-30 out for white tail this year. Shoots kinda high. From what I've read it seems like that's how they were made. Shoot at the belt buckle and you'll hit the torso someplace. Has any one fooled around with the front post or should I just hold low? Shooting at targets earlier this week I was able to take 2 shots and knock the center out with the hold. Likely lucky but was kinda a walk off home run with the guys that came out to shoot.

I changed the original front sight on my Mosin to the adjustable front sight made by Euclidean Machine Works in Canada (http://www.euclideanmachine.com/mosinsight.html). Now the POA is the POI. Problem solved.

That Euclidean sight looks cool. Season starts monday so I probably procrastinated too much. I think I've seen a video on the but connector mod. Have to shoot a bit over the weekend and get it sorted. Even with it shooting high I think it shoots or I shoots best of the rifles I own. Windage seems dead on so if I can't do something with the post I'll try the hold under. I think I have that dialed.

Those are copies of mine, FYI. Still burns me up -- he even admitted it when I asked him.

1. Bayonet changes POI apparently a fair bit. Haven't shot mine with bayonet on to compare though have seen examples online.
2. If you've been sighting it with ~150 grain FMJ surplus try it with the 200 grain softpoint MFS stuff which impacts lower.

Kind of an older post here but :
