Hey Folks

My brother owns a Russian sks with a fixed magazine, we're just wondering if these are to replace the fixed mag on these rifles: http://www.marstar.ca/main/images/3K-845M-L.jpg

Or is there a model of Russian SKS that already has the detachable mags and these being for that model.

Sorry, Im just confused, before I was just thinking it was the SKS-D being the SKS with detachable mag, but I thought they were the Chinese ones.

The only factory SKS that I know have a detachable mag is the SKS-D.

Few companies sells a detachable mag conversion. From what I've heard, the mags are "ok". Some of them have feeding problems and they usually don't work as well as the stock one.

The sks loads so fast a detachable magazine would just slow you down. Plus, when you drop it in the dirt your buddies will just laugh at you. Moral of the story is, show them how fast the stripper clip system is and enjoy the engineering involved.

yea those supposedly will work for his sks, duckbill mags from tapco are known to feed the best and be the most reliable. but if its an sks with a detachable mag you want standard get an sks-d. i just ordered some tapco mags pinned to 5 for my sks!
