Russian SKS Gas Tube

Hi All,

I am looking for the gas tube cylinder for my russian sks. I have looked everywhere and can only find the gas tube with the railed hand guard cover.

I only need the gas tube by itself or with a hand guard either the wood one or a synthetic one. I don't want the railed hand guard because I have an SKS SOCOM MOUNT and will only fit on a non-railed hand guard.

Thanks
Daniel

Marstar (see banner at top of the page) has Chinese with wood hand guard. $16 plus freight and taxes. They should fit a Russian.

It's quite easy to remove the hand guard and replace it with your own if you want. Check out the link below.

Its Sold out at Marstar, that's the first place I looked. I've already replaced the wood hand guard with a black synthetic one but my gas tube keeps rusting eventhough I clean it properly.

I just bought a spare Chinese Type 56 military gas tube/handguard from Marstar 2 weeks ago. They fit the Russian SKS's perfectly. The wood is also very nice and easily made to match the wood on the Ruskie. I simply sanded off the crappy shellac finish and gave it 4 coats of tung oil. I hate to say it, but it fits tighter than my factory gas tube -- which is a good thing.

Yup New Era, that corrosive ammo is nasty! You should pick up some Gun Scrubber and spray that on the metal parts, then run a rag through right after you finish shooting that day! Then spray some G96 on a rag and wipe down everything except the gas piston and tube, and run it through the barrel as well after you clean it with the Gun Scrubber.
I can't be bothered, I shoot less and use commercial ammo with non-corrosive primers.

Thanks for the tip. I will pick some up and try it out
