Russian SKS in Tapco Stock (Polymer Stock info)...

Hands down awesomness but it does require removing the rifle from the stock for cleaning. That turns most people off.

I don't get it, I've only stripped my sks down a half dozen times now but can do it in less than 2 min. I'm sure I'll get that down to 1 min with repetition. How lazy are people that they can't take a extra 2 min when cleaning lol.

I caved and put my orphan (shooter) Chicom back in the Tapco Intrafuse.

I figured since it fit tight, and was always very accurate in it I might as well roll with it.

I fixed the movement the ATI buttstock had so now its both more comfortable and secure.
Tapco mags run like a champ in this stock too.
The Glock grip and Magpul handstop only add to the comfort as well. There is also a Choate flash hider attached.

So, I'm finding more pluses than minuses in the end with this one. Why fight it.

Ok, didn't bother reading the whole thread, skimmed it. Honestly after trying out every stock out there (including that 200 arch angel) I found they all made them, bulky, sloppy un attractive rifles that create more head ache with minor issues (mag feeding, filing this part down ect ect.) Best purchase for an sks is ammo and a stock pad/extender if you need one.

If your a do it your self kinda guy and want to toy with things and fiddle here, fix that. Giver a go ! If not and you want something tactical and cheap then go get a 10/22 lol

I may get another ATI Monte Carlo for my black bayo sks and cut a slit for the bayonet. They do look ok, but so far I haven't found anything wrong with the hardwood Russian ! lol

I say you're right for the most part ^^^

My setup above took some tinkering to get to a point where it was acceptable and enjoyable to shoot. (New/different handgaurd, pistol grip mod for easier stripping, magazine filing and fitting, new buttstock fitting etc)

In the end it was a fun endeavor and learned the ins and outs of the rifle quickly that way.
But, I still have more than a few in their pure, unmolested form because nothing really beats that configuration.
