Russian SKS Pre-order

jimbo14... what do you use for your little part of SKS...... what is the liqid in the stainless bowl...?!
"little part of SKS"? Not sure what you mean.

The liquid in the bowl is solvent. A mixture of a few things I had (a little left in a few bottles). Use solvent, mineral spirits, paint thinner, etc. Alcohol may mess up the shellac finish on the stock so avoid that.

Just got mine open, got a 1954 tula, all matching numbers all right, looks in very good condition and again likely never fired.

Now, trying to figure out all the damn marks and stamps on it!!!

Got mine today.

I was getting something out of the closet by the door when the mailman knocked, i think i scared him by opening the door less than a second after he knocked.

1954, all matched, except the gastube and the piston, they are electropenciled

A little disappointed by the lack of packing material, knowing how they handle the packages a little bubblewrap goes a long way.

A died red hair caught between the stock and the action, must be Svetlana the cheif lube-job supervisor.

I only wiped it down... i will need a lot of solvent, this thing was probably dropped in a barrel of cosmoline

Nope, thats correct from what I have read. Those parts could not have been stamped, so the electro penciled them. Parts were too small, or this to take a stamping, so yours is all matching as is!

My all matching rifle arrived yesterday at the post office but I was in the hospital having surgery. My ride home today told me I was too sick to go to the post office and play with rifles, so I had to throw a hissy fit in order for her to stop at the post office so I could get my new rifle. Its beautiful but haven't cleaned it up yet. All matching numbers but no stamp on the receiver cover. Not a mark or blemish on it from my initial inspection. I'll try to get some pics when I've got it degreased... and when they give me back my keys to the workshop... and my boots...and my truck keys... :)

Thanks for the info, i thought it might be the case, its always good to hear a confirmation

I'm disappointed. I pre-ordered a "numbers matching" rifle, as I wanted a shooter, not a collectable. I paid $225, plus GST, shipped. The rifle that arrived not only has matching numbers, but there is hardly a scratch, mark, or ding - nothing to suggest that this 58 year old (1954 Tula) rifle has ever been fired, never mind issued to a Soviet soldier. It's too nice to shoot. Now I'm going to have to buy another one; I can't take this safe queen to the range.

All kidding aside, this is a minty rifle. Very fine product, and great communication and service. I would definitely recommend WestRifle to anyone. Thanks, guys!

I am sorry for this. We can fix this issue for you. I will send you one that is ###X out if you really want.
Anyway I like that people put it that way and I like that it is made it's way to the internet."QUALITY SKS" this is what I try to do. Most of our sales on word of the mouth now. It makes as busy, but I love it especially if someone is happy.

Thank you for posting good comments. If anyone is unhappy with their rifle please let me know as well.
