Russian SKS Serial Number Registry

My Tula set is now complete, or at least as complete as I care to make it. The fever has broken, now I'm just plain sick. Unless a bunch of cheap 49's or non refurb Izzies show up, I'm done. Sigh. It was a non refurb 52 and "I" from Weimajack.

I'm kind of surprised people are keeping track though!

How is the Yugoslav/Romanian/Albanian/Chinese/Korean/German/Vietnamese/Polish collection coming along?

Egyptian contract? Haha

Just quoting you for when you buy another Russian that isn't a 49 or non-refurb izzy haha.

That collection consists of one butt ugly Type 56, and it will probably stay that way until I win the lottery and have a dedicated gun room, or some such!

I have every type of Tula 49-55 with dates on receiver . One with just the Tula mark ( no star on the side) and one 55/56 with the star on the side

Hi guys, just an update that the registry is still down. The problem is massive spam attacks. Very strange and hard to control. Anyway, I am looking to transition the database to a new more secure online platform, or I will just maintain it in Excel. The later is easier from a technological standpoint but labour intensive, the former requires more searching. I will keep you apprised. Thanks, Kurgan.

The Symbols on the list don't quite match my guns.

That is a very interesting find. I wouldn't be surprized about the numbers. Many larger retailers across the country now carry SKS's, and the Russians are definitely dumping what's left of their stock here in Canada. I wonder how the quality stacks-up? They minty ones seem to be getting harder and harder to find. :)

I am considering opening the registry for a few hours, at a specified time, to allow CGN members to catch up and add their SKS's. There will be zero tolerance for bogus or suspect entries -- which will result in deletion. Members will have to have their SKS's at their side, and partly disassembled (if necessary) to answer all the questions correctly.

Chime in if you're interested.

Keep an eye on this thread... for the announcement. It will be a narrow 2-3 hour window. Any more, and the spam sets in, and then I have many hours of "data cleaning" to do.
