i recently saw a russian sks:
tula made (there is a 'star' on the side of the receiver), but the dust/receiver cover has no marking. wood stock is well used (not laminated), bluing is about 80%, nothing matched, someone carved a 4-digit number on the outside of the gas piston and another 4-digit number on the bolt charger, where the original serial # has been filed off. traces of camo paint on the outside of the gas piston. bore is bright and shiny with strong rifling. no rust or pitting. not babba'ed.
