cant compare apples to oranges.

SKS-D are different to other SKSs , its claim to fame is it takes an AK mag and people are willing to part with more of their money for the cooooool look.:cool::ar15:

i havent noticed any difference in the steel but the russian SKS45 are far superior in workmenship than the norinco and same to the early chinese (with the exception of wood).
 
woohoo! Got my PAL. Wow, that was actually very quick... less than a month.
But yeah.. I think I'll be ordering in my Russian SKS from Frontier, apparently they're still taking orders. The downside is, they won't be available until June.
Ah well, I guess I can wait. Or I could just get something else... but nah I think as a guy buying his first rifle... I think the SKS is a good place to start.

thanks for the info. so far lock stock and barrel are the only dealer in BC that i have heard that offers the russian SKS , im sure there is more but i havent heard yet.
 
I am sure there are others, its just that they have not mentioned it publicly until they know for sure when they are receiving them, unlike the other guys advertising something that they have no idea when its coming in.

Firearms have a funny way of being stuck at the border for lengthy times. I remember when Armrus was still in business in Montreal, and he started selling off all his firearms at half price because he had a few containers stuck at the border for a long long time and he needed money. Aside from having terrible customer service, I think the delay in those containers was a reason he went belly up.
