Good news I heard they are coming from the Ukraine, so they will hopefully be in decent rebuilt condition like the Mosins and SVT that have coming in from there.

So nice to hear the fresh winds of optimism - unlike all the traitor talk of previous posts.

I have come to realize

I have now accepted that these guns are never coming. My guess is that some where, some importer got burned. Its not likely Russia is known to be a good place to do business. The place is full of coruption and Im sure the gun business is no different. I hope Im wrong!!
But someone has cash in hand and someone is without cash and without guns.

I find it interesting, however, that SEVEN months into the SIR product announcement, almost NINE months since Frontier forst announced, we still see no shipment, yet people are not crapping all over these dealers anywhere near as badly as they did over the Marstar debacle respecting the VZ58S.

good observation , could it be that frontier & SIR are JUST dealers (middlemen) and marstar is an importer/dealer ? an importer should be able to better gauge the ETA. im not an importer but i can imagine forecasting arrival date of firearms from developing countries is like forecasting weather.

Its no rumor folks, I just got off the phone today and they will be sending 200 rounds (not sure what kind) of 7.62x39 with each rifle once they arrive. No mutch but hey its still free.

December 2008 / Jan 2009....

I was just on the phone with SIR looking for a back order item and just had to enquire about the SKS and thats what I was told.

BTW, the SIR website could sure use some help as it doesn't tell you stock status when you place an order nor do they inform you by email whether you are even getting your order. I waited for the last 10 days only to find out by calling them that both items I ordered were not in stock....

Yes, I am totally serious. I was told that I could be put on a waiting list if I wanted to order one or x number but that they weren'T expecting delivery until late Dec 2008 or early Jan 2009.

Got to agree with an earlier post though, lots of hype for a cheapy rifle.
