Russian SKS45 long thread.

I talked to Marlin this week (man, I wonder how many calls they have received!!!) and he said the hand select guns all had unpainted, shiny bolt carriers, but they were not pristine mint collectors items.

Great! Here I am thinking I'm going to pay extra for a minty hand select Russian SKS, & I may end up with a POS. Now I am really in a good mood .

Glang, Not pristine does not mean POS. Don't get to bent out of shape till you see it. They are SKS's, their not supposed to be pristine rifles, this way when you put a scratch on it you will not care. These are not a $2000 rifle you are scared to use and only keep it in the safe and look at it. ITS A SKS..SHOOT IT...SHOOT IT!!!! Wither you get one in minty shape, or one that is a bit rougher, the value will not change. The whole idea is getting a semi auto that is inexpensive to buy and relatively cheap to shoot and a whole lotta FUN!! With some interesting history to boot.

I like your attitude.... Will you trade with me if yours is prettier???

I am a collector & was hoping for an unissued #'s matching Russian SKS for my collection of Russian firearms. I have already ordered a "shooter", it's condition doesn't really matter. Maybe the seller was misled on the condition of these SKS's. I hope I am NOT disappointed.

Might have been reported before, but... my Frontier shipment of 2 has just been issued a delivery notice sent directly to my e-mail through Canada Post.

They are finally on their way!!!

:D

Total cost for 2 rifles with taxes and shipping (as per my Visa statement): $483

This is by far the most reasonable price tag on any collector-grade rifle I've ever bought. Now watch some people getting 10+ of them and jacking up the prices to 500$+ a piece as soon as the supplies dry out. Typical...

Do you mind me asking, what are you getting for $483? My VISA was charged $514 today and my order was for 1 hand select/1 shooter grade and I'm a hell of a lot closer to PA than you!!

Ahhh I have had mine for well over a year now, and have become quite fond of it lol Its a 1950, refurb unissued,Artic Birch stock, and I cannot trade it since it has now become friends with the other rifles in the cabinet. It just would not be right lol

my c.c. just got charged $283.45,so,i'm getting 1 collector grade but prolly not unissued.oh well,i guess i'm not getting a shooter grade also.
the way i see it, 269.95 x 5% and no shipping charges.i'm both happy and sad,as i wanted 2 but at least my c.c. won't start bleeding (for now)
i haven't received an email notification yet...
i'll order a second later-to keep it's comrade happy-

Hey,is there room for one more guy to post in this thread?:p I am waiting for an SKS as well, christmas present from my wife. I was looking around for one of these elusive creatures for a couple months with no luck, then my wife found out a local gun shop was getting some in and put one on hold for me but it didn't make it in time for xmas, still hasn't made it but they are saying soon. Hopefully it will be there by the time I take some time off work!

CC charged on Thursday (figured out how to check online thanks to you keeners), no tracking number yet ... but have some ammo in the shipment so maybe DHL vs. Canada Post.

Glad now I changed my payment method to CC vs. original EMT when I confirmed order ... somehow it was easier waiting 10 months than it will be to wait one more day.

Also for anyone in Ottawa area looking to pickup one of these Russian SKS - I called Sports Action today (on St. Laurent) and they expect a shipment from Bell in early March.

Did they say how much they were charging for these rifles?

George

No, Sorry - and I felt I'd already pulled enough teeth just confirming they were getting some and determining the name of the distributor (Bell). Please feel free to call and ask though - I'd be curious to know :)
