Russian SKS45 long thread.

Reloads

:D

I wonder what kind of reloads do these Russians like? Would be fun to develop a decent load, God knows I've got the brass for it.

The surplus 7.62 ammo has steel casings and apparently cannot be reloaded. That said, a guy at our club has used US-manufactured brass (Winchester?) to load some very good ammo, with 1" groupings at 100 yards. I don't have the details about his loads, but I saw the results, so the possibility exists.

I really hope so. So who all bought one from Chilliwack on here??

I picked up one from chilliwack D & T a couple of days ago. It's a 1954 Tula, blued with a laminate stock and all matching numbers except for the gas chamber. The wood on the upper is darker and looks as if it may be birch. The serial numbers still have the white paint in them. It's so nice I'm wondering now whether I should use it as a shooter. I think I'll wait to see what SIR sends me ( if anything ) before I take it to the range. :D:D

Hi there fellow wacker. What year and number was yours, I might remember it, I sat on the floor and picked through them all. lol. I hope mine is nice....

Yeah the guys were telling me about some crazy lady who had them spread out all over the store. That must have been you. Actually they said they learned a lot from you. Mine has a refurb stamp but it's in much nicer condition than I was expecting.
