Russian SKS45 long thread.

I live close to a store where they have them in stock, 3 grades with the top grade being $280. I could have went and got one this afternoon, but with my luck, had I done this my $169 SIR SKS would show up the next day and be better then the more expensive one. I'm not really interested in having matching #'s or it's collectability, I only live once I'm going to shoot, and shoot lots. I would be happy if it functions well and is reasonably accurate.

You have the right attitude!:)

I'm expecting 4 refurbs in very-good condition.

If I get lucky, and pick up one or more un-issued rifles.....all the better!:)

I'll be very happy to get at least one with a spring-loaded firing pin!:D

My DHL tracking number tells me that my shipment is still in Regina and that is Undeliverable!!!!!!! WTF? Says shipped Jan 19.

I called frontier, they shipped my babies, but now DHL is making my life hell...

any ideas?? or I should get anti-depressant pills?

If your DHL tracking number starts with NET, it will never update

the real one starts with an S, and after they attempt delivery, you'll get one with a DNK

Ya baby!!!!

mine came today.

gold bayonet.stock has prolly been re-shellaced,1 place where small ding has removed shellac.rifle is almost new, maybe fired very little or just cycled several dozen times.this is a hand-select from frontier.
tube,piston,extractor and butt-plate are electro-penciled.
butt-plate and piston tube hardware are painted.
small scratches on receiver cover.
overall,very happy!!!
can i get a little help on the armorers stamps and year, please?

Do the X's on the stock mean anything? My friend thinks it's the rifle's kill count scratched by the soldier who used it in war... lol

Toyboy, nice looking Late 55/56 Tula. The mark on the right side of the butt is a final inspection mark. The ones by the recoil lug are also inspection marks. These inspection marks are only on stocks that have not been changed. so your's should not have any numbers Xd out on the stock.

thanks woodbeef:
no x's on stock but the buttplate and gas-tube rear "clip" is black-painted.
the butt is a bit dented.
i'm not sure but there are no marks on the bolt,piston,barrel,etc... to indicate having been fired apart from the hammer having "witness marks"(several scratches).for sure the bolt and gas piston are "as new" never fired.

Still waiting for them to call and tell me they really did lose it. Sigh. I hate waiting...

DHL lost your gun!!! UGH, that's horrible!!! I hope it all turns out okay... Personally, there is no lost love between me and DHL... Several years ago, I paid cash on delivery for a gun from Wild West Shooting Centre... I kept the receipt approximately 4, 5 or 6 months... Cleaned my shooting table one day and threw all the "junk" out... THE NEXT DAY, I had a notice from DHL that they were sending the account to collections!!! Was I pi$$ed off!!! Anyways, after MUCH ARGUING and escalating of the call in their call centre's, I had it sorted out... NEVER will I deal with DHL if I can avoid it...

Cheers
Jay
