I posted this elsewhere, but hey this is the longest SKS thread in the universe so here's my contribution to keep it goin'

Received my SKS, pretty regular refurbed; Tula 1953. Poor shellac job (uneven, and some bare spots), but other than that, everything else is ok for me. Electropenciled number on gas tube. I wonder about that; is it electropenciled because stamping a number on it would damage it? As soon as I get darker shellac than the white stuff I have right now, the stock will look better.

Just got my hand-select from frontier. It's re-furbed but still has the original stock, no paint still blued, everything matches.. the bayonet is still shiny. Excellent condition.. I am very happy. Ammo came with the package

Has anyone received their ammo from Frontier yet or heard any further news? It sounds like most of us have received our SKSs by now?

I got my ammo at the same time as my rifles (not including the crate I got before the rifles, at wholesale sports)

Marlin emailed me back and said they would be starting to ship the ammo on Monday Feb 2 via DHL.

I drove around Calgary today looking for any shipments of SKS' and ammo. There are 2 places that are not sponsors here that are waiting for their shipments. I found ammo at the other places, one was $200/1120rnds and the other one must be sniffing solvent. They are asking close to $300/1120rnds.

Mine showed up today from Trade Exchange Canada TEC (sponsor) along with the flash suppressor and the bipod. (All SKS equip). They may be out of some of the stuff already.
