Russian Tokarev TT-33

Then the TT33 is a great gun for you be it a Russian surplus (like my 1944), a new one from Norinco (mine is very well made), or an oddball T58 German import.

TTs are extremely accurate if you know what you are doing. At the beginning when shooting at 25 meters from TT i could not get good accuracy, but now i consistently hit all 8 shots within 3 inch square at 25 meters. There are special technique you have to use with TT to get good accuracy, but i guess it could be said about any pistol. The rear sights could be improved though. TT is also one of those pistols whose trigger becomes a lot better with use. So to sum up, if somebody can not get good accuracy from TT it is probable not the pistol's fault, but TT is not the easiest pistol to learn basic pistol technique on. TT is light, narrow, maneuverable and LOUD and all of it makes it lots of fun to shoot from, but it also can make the novice flinch and mess up the aim and therefore the accuracy. TT is also unique and different from other pistols, so you should defenetly buy one :)

TT-33 's are great

I hear you can drop in a 9mm barrel. Don't know why you would want to though. The 7.62 is a better round. Has more punch than a .45. Shoots faster hits harder

i bought one just cause..

still havn't taken it to the range yet... but for the price i couldn't say no.

yeah the guns a bit loose, but what the heck do you expect from a ww2 gun? its ment to be able to take a beating and still go bang every time.

There's a bit of truth in what everyone has said here. I started off with a T-33 as my 1st pistol with the intent on having a 9mm barrel to drop in but those 9m barrels aren't all that readily avilable but I did get finally get one. I then bought a 2nd TT-33. They are good starter pistols and I learned a lot from them and when a good used Beretta 92 became available I sold them both to help fund the 92 and what a difference, but the TT-33 was a good learning tool.

I will not recommend a Tokarev to anyone but to the people I hate. There are numerous faults on the pistol. To name one fault, the pistol cannot be stripped and reassembled easily. To clean the extractor slot and the firing pin channel, you will need to drive two pins out and back in. The back "in" part will take you maybe two hours for the first try. The other fault for the pistol is that it can rust with surplus ammo. Czech surplus 7.62 Tokarev will have corrosive salt seep into every little place of the pistol. Mix corrosive salt with a hard-to-clean firing pin channel and you will get a rusty firing pin!:D The worst about the Tokarev is the value you get for your money. With the gun being about $200, you will get something that was made by a gorilla. By gorilla workmanship, I mean machine marks are everywhere on the gun, the sights can be crooked, parts can too tight, parts can be too loose, and this is just to name a few flaws for the gun. Overall, Tokerev is a bad gun on being easily reassemble, on being rust free, and on being expensive.

To all the people that say that the TT-33 is hard to work on, please go back to your TV’s and don't get back up. This gun is well built and very simple. It's easy to clean and keep running perfect. I have run mine 600 rounds without one fail. It can be taken apart and put back together in seconds (not as fast as a Glock but dam fast)

Yes the gun came to my house a little dirty and over oiled but it was $190, what can you expect? Clean it up and shoot it. My TOK is a beast with the double taps and accurate as hell.

I have many guns. The TT-33 was the cheapest I have ever bought. The finish is noticably rough, the handle is small, and ammo availability varies. But the thing cost me under $200 inc tax and if it breaks, well I only spent a little.

I love shooting mine. It is loud, lots of fire out the muzzle, good kick to it, and it is just so different. I do not shoot corrosive in mine for good reasons stated by "someuser" and I bought custom grips which make all the difference for my large hands and make it a bit more handsome too.

Remember it is a cheap gun... I am glad I bought it. Go for it, hope you like it too!
