Rusted cz858 barrel (posting for a friend)

Are you serious?

By 'Copper Swab' I mean a bullet.. not literally fire a swab out your barrel.

As long as the rifle hasn't been sitting rusting for an extended period of time, the rust will be on the surface and will come 99% clean with a round down the pipe.

Not as ideal a treatment as taking care of the rifle in the first place, but will clean it out.

I always imagined this would ram the contaminants further into the the rifling and micro-pits.

rusted barrel

I read an article one time that if you have a badly rusted barrel and nothing woks well to clean it then plug up the breach end and pour kerosene into the barrel till it's full and leave it over night . then the next day scrub the hell out of it .

I've never tried this but when you screw up a bore anything that will bring it back is a good thing . just don't leave it near a water heater while it's soaking. let me know if this works for you.

Hence why I said Kroil oil over night & JB it the following day.

I just throw the barreled action in the ultrasonic tank, works great.

....not all of us have access to such wonderful things.

Here's mine:

Doesn't work as well :(

LOL Seriously, do you really have an US tank? Where do you work/why do you have one? I am oblivious to how they work.
