Yes, it removes all the bluing as bluing is a type of rust. Down to the white metal.

And here is my deer gun for this season. A primer and OD paint is all it took. I had a canvas strap of un-known origin that I installed as a sling. Everything is bolt on, so I'll be able to put it back to military specs any time I want.

I'll let you know how the tests goes on Friday

Lookin' good Bob. But why wait till friday test it today. I'm having a hard time waiting as I am planning to do a bunch of bedding on some sporterized No4's I have. I must have LEADD

Hi

Wish I had something to tell about the range report. I spent 9 cartridge adjusting the darn scope, and when I tried to shot the rest, the scope mount came loose and I spent the rest of the ammo chasing holes in paper and not doing anything else.

I discovered at the end of the day the scope issue when I picked up the gun to go home.

So I guess I will lock-tite everything before I go next time. Maybe I will buy a box of Winchester also, this will give me ammo to adjust the scope and 20 cases fireformed.

Lock-Tite is the way to go; I tried to zero in my "ready to hunt out of the box" Savage 111 (with POS Bushnell scope), and after 10 rounds, I suddenly went off the paper. Since then, I've put a Leopould Rifleman on it, cleaned and LT'd everything, and am much happier with it!

Get the blue loc-tite. It's moderate strength. The red is stronger...to the point that it can have a tendency to make the heads of the screws get ugly when you go to take that scope off.
