Has anyone tried RWS R100? I just bought some on sale and wondering how it was. Of course it will be different in specific firearms but on average!

I will be following that post with interest. I just tried RWS '' Rifle Match '' that are the practice version of the RWS R50 competition ammo for 50m. R100 are for 100m.

I'm looking for R50.

That should be very accurate ammo. You'll be able to see just how accurate you and your rifle are.

Never tried it, but I would expect it to shoot as good as the R50... which is pretty darn good.

Awesome, the local CTC couldn't sell it at$25.99 a box of 50. So put them on for $12.99' I made a deal to buy them all(22boxes) for $220. Pls tax!! I hope the NS522 likes them!

The explanation I heard was the R100 is the Olympic/Biathlon version.
If possible you should check the velocity of it. The R50 is around 1070 but will vary lot to lot as does Eley.
Eley publishes the velocity on their Match grades and so does Lapua via a special formula.
by placing a 3 in front of the first two numbers of the lot number you have the velocity in metres per second. Multiply by 3.28 and you have the velocity in fps.
RWS produces match ammo for Federal and the velocities are 1080 for SV and 1200 for HV.
I have tried both (R50 and Federal) and the SV is very good but the HV leaves a lot to be desired. The two bricks of Federal HV will probably kill gophers as there are days when it is on par with MiniMags.
Regardless, the price is good and at 1200 fps it will be good for varmints.

The box says 343m/s which is 1125.3 fps. Shows a guy standing and shooting sort of in a biathlon so makes sense, we will see what it does in a NS522.
