S&B 180g .303 British ammo?

Picked up a few boxes of this stuff a while ago. have not shot it yet however. It was decently prices as far as .303 goes and aesthetically looks identical to some Mk 7z I have kicking around (Which I know means nothing apart it should feed well). Anyone else shoot this ammo? How well did it perform? The box just says FMJ and does not state weather its a boat tail or flat base. Anyone know?

Well good to hear they are alright. Was hopeing they would make a good enough replacement for ball but with the boat tail they wont shoot anywhere as good.

Oh well, mainly picked them up on a whim.
 
Shoots just okay in my .303 rifles, nothing to write home about and most cases I tried to reload had poor or thin brass that started splitting on the 2nd or 3rd reload.

As mentioned above, go with Privi, as their brass are much better and last way longer if you want to reload later, no boat tail bullets I have tried shoot all that well in most Enfield's unless they have new barrels.

Winchester gray box 180gr. flat base hunting ammo shoots very well in most Enfield's I have tried it in and sells for about the same price or lower than S&B and Privi at Le Baron, especially if you have the members discount card, last price for a box I bought was $19 before the 10% off members discount about a year ago.
 
~Angel~ uses nothing but S&B .303 British for all of her Enfield shooting, including her No.4(T)'s.

She owns a beautiful all original BSA Co.(1917) No.1 MkIII* (all matching numbers), including the rear sight. It even has the spring loaded Flanders muzzle mud flap mounted on it. She took it out to the range and was reasonably happy with her first "zeroing" go round at 100 yards. Here's the range report she put in her "data book" for this particular gun.

I only have S&B brass at the moment, because about 7 months ago the local store was selling the .303 for 20$ a box (a fair price). It shot reasonably well through my P14 but it was nothing to brag about. With my P14 I currently have about 6 reloads out of the brass (still using it), but my rifle also has a standard chamber not a weird Enfield chamber as well.
 
Ive had good luck with S&B and its usually readily available around here. The best Ive ever used which gave me excellent groups is Norma ammo, but its expensive and hard to get in this area.
 
The S&B 180gr FMJ shot well in my L/E's. Around 400 rounds fired. One thing I did find out the hard way was that the once fired brass I collected for handloading,.. has primer pockets at the minimum diameter or even undersized according to spec for the .303British. Just check it out with your caliper when you deprime some compared to outside diameters on standard rifle primers from Winchester.
If you ever set of a primer during case priming one of those GD pieces of brass you'll know what I mean:eek::eek:. Otherwise if you don't reload, it's good to go.
