S&B primers, are they any good?

Hi all,

I have been searching high and low for pistol primers and I finally found a box of 1000 S&B small pistol primers. I have never used these before, let alone heard that they made primers. Does anyone have feedback about these, good or bad?

Used a one thousand small pistol S&B with no failure to fires. What else do you want from a primer?

Im curious as there is very little information about these primers online, let alone they dont sell any in local stores. The price was decent, 34.99$ for a box of 1000. I will report back after I load them this week.

We have them locally. I still prefer the federal primers over the S&B even if they are $10 more per 1000. For plinking around, they are perfectly fine.

I have just used 10,000 sp and 5,000 sr. Worked well in every way. I would say the cup is similar to CCI, but the bang is a bit milder.

Federals are the softest, so they're perfect if you've mucked around with the trigger pull and risk having light strikes.

I've used about 4,000 of them and never had any issues. As others have said, I find them to be very similar to Winchesters.

I think that you will find that anything that Sellier & Bellot make can be trusted to be first-rate quality.

IMHO, as Ganderite states, they are not overly potent but they are very consistent.

Does anyone know if they make a LR magnum primer???

I love picking up S&B range brass, it's so clean. Wonder what powder they use.
