Anyone have a Schmidt&Bender 1.1-4x20 short dot police marksman II scope with locking turrets on their rifle? Experience with this scope? Pics? Thank you,

I don't have the S&B. looked a long time for one for a price I could handle and then finally decided on a Nightforce 1-4X24 for a Swiss Arms Carbine, Couldn't be happier. Almost as fast as an aimpoint, crystal clear glass and the 4 power is plenty of magnification for its usage. You are after a great optic but if you don't find it NF will do in a pinch

Have both the gen 1 and 2, it's my favourite scope. Prefer the g1's non-locking turrets over the g2, but the lack of the blue tint on the g2 is preferable over the g1.

Anyway, talk to Wolverine, I believe they are your man sir.

None at this time. Just don't like pulling up on the turret to manipulate the reticle. Really, doesn't matter for punching paper though. G2's turrets are quite a bit taller than the G1, and in my case the G2 is a european metric, while the g1 is US MOA (turrets are manipulated in opposite directions).

I think it's a G2 or nothing anyways these days. It's a damn fine scope with a red dot to boot. There's a new 1-8x24 Shortdot now..... Or check the Leopold CQBSS.

2.5-10x NXS would be better. The M14 isn't a doorkicker and eventually you'll want to wallop something out at 500 yards. 10x is better suited for that (but 4 is OK too). If you're absolutely stuck on a 1-4x I would say to get the NXS. , though I've never used the S&B (and heard nothing but good about the S&B as well). I just doubt that you'll see a serious difference between them to justify the added cost of the German.

If you want a cqb optic with a huge fov then 1-4, good out to 200M if you want a longer range and cqb is not necessary then 2.5-10 is a magnificent optic. The NXS is a nightforce scope. you may need both :)) in the pics you see a 1-4 and 3.5-15 I'd prefer the 2.5-10 on the classic green but the 3.5-15 works.
 
I am sold on the Nightforce 2.5-10x NXS conpacts as well. 4x will let you shoot way out there on high contrast targets, but won't let you count points. The scope is very light weight, and robust. Best to remove the rear sight on the m14, and set the scope low though.
