I'm seeing more and more painted lower recievers - the "S" and "F", S being white, and F in red. Has anyone done this on the board? It's pretty cool, and gives the rifle that HK look. What would be the best way to go about doing this.. freehand (scares me)? Or is there some magic cgn trick? Thanks. :)

IMO (being a guy who has done it in the past) it looks cheap... don't bother.

But if you must, the best way to do it (so you can clean it up later) is good old fashion Crayola Crayon - smear it in, wipe off excess.
You can use paint with a similar method, but going back is not as easy.

If the letters are deep enough you could paint them using Testors model paint and a small brush and after they dry use a rag damp with thiner to wipe off the excess. If the letters aren't deep the rag will wipe the paint out of them. BTDT!

Yeah, I'm on the fence... and I kinda hear what G37 is saying, but at the same time, it COULD turn out pretty nicely. Like I said, I've seen a few pretty cool looking ones. I dunno... I guess crayola could always wipe off if I didn't like it... right?
