Hello.

Recently purchased a custom Brno rifle with the stamp S.Holborn on the barrel. I'm sure this is the gunsmith who installed the custom barrel on my rifle.

The work seems to be well done. Just looking for some reviews and knowledge on the gunsmith. Does anybody know what make of barrels he normally used for rifles? The rifling looks fantastic, just curious.

Thanks for your time.

Steve Holborn is a gunsmith who worked in Calandar ON when I first met him. Later he had a shop on Highway 17 in Warren ON. I don't know if he is still in the business or not as I knew him when I lived in North Bay but I left there 4 years ago. Any work Steve did for me was #1.

Steve is a personal friend...Residence and shop is on 17 Hwy in Warren Ontario, across from OPP OFFICE Business name is Now ITM Machining. Phone 705 967 0940. 8960 17Hwy 17 East WARREN Ont. P0H 2N0. My best barrels came from Steve.

When Steve was living in Calandar I & several friends had almost any gun smithing done by him , including
re rifling barrels (.30-30 up to .38-55 , etc.). I have a Winchester 1885 in .45-70 custom made by him , still .

All work was #1 . When he moved to Warren to service the mining industry , gun smithing came to a stop.
I knew a few people who had guns sit @ Warren for 2 YEARS & not even get started.
Too bad ,,,,,,,,, great gunsmith !! Yes he did have a screw machine , from which I bought many screws for
vintage Winchesters ,,,,,,,,,,, all perfect.
Very sad to see a great gun smith stop that job.
