What do you guys now about this rifle. Some told me they were made by Savage but I m pretty sure it was FAZ. Any info would be helpful as Im thinking of adding to the the Enfield family;)

I've been looking at these too. They're called the 'No.4 Carbine' for a reason, they aren't No.5's. ;)

Looks like they're just giving old No 4's another lease on life, all the better for us, hopefully bubba will stay away from the full wood Enfields still out there. I think $299 is a little steep though.

But why? Damaging serviceable rifles!

I don't know if they are cutting them down, as the forend looks like it's a new make. There's no mark where the mid-band would be.

I would imagine that they are taking old bubba's in bulk, re-bluing them, cutting off the worn out crown, slapping on a flash-hider, a new stock set, checking them over, and selling them for a nice profit.

Any better ideas?

They are probably just vandalising the last of the surplus by cutting down the barrels!

There's no way to know for sure, but they could sell them in original military configuration for more than the sporterized version.
