Odds are nothing dramatic. However, the chances of that barrel being more accurate, cleaner shooting, and longer lasting are reduced.

If I was building a short barreled fun gun, figuring on nothing further than 100 yards and not worried about getting tighter groups at distance, I'd buy a known second barrel.

As long as the park has not etched to deeply into the bore it will make no difference unless your talking the whole bore is covered in park.
If we were talking a $600 match bbl that would be another story

The bbls are non chrome lined. And that really is not an issue for most of us as we are not shooting full auto.
All it meens is that you are going to get better MOA from it, most of the time.
We use 4350 steel. About the best
We did havea small batch where some park got inside all bbls were testfired anf then sold off to customers for less then cost.
A total of 325 ar15 bbls have been made and we have had 5 with incorect gas port and 6 with park in the bore.

I was just on your site. Can you give more information about the pre contoured barrels? Can they be finished as they are or do they require machining before exterior finish? I looked at them compared to the other barrels available. The pre contoured barrels are threaded on both ends, please share how these attach to the upper receiver.
 
Well, I just finished my latest upper. I have a 16" S&J barrell, YHM low profile gas block, Cerro Forge upper, M16 BCG, Troy Battle Rail, Dlask brake, Magpul back up sights and Magpul RVG. The Troy rail is extremely light and very, very nice. I have high hopes for this upper...not the cheapest one I have built, but very very nice fit and finish.
