I installed and test drove the sling plate in the woods of northern MB this week. I am very impressed. The installation is a breeze and can be done in under 3 minutes with tools in hand. I was very impressed with the finish of the plate, and it fit very well, with almost no play/movement once slid into place. There is also not a rough/sharp edge on the unit, which will extend the life of straps/slings. Once everything was put back together and tightened, there is NO MOVEMENT what so ever. Rock solid. Two boxes of shot and ten 3" slugs without a hitch. This thing isn't going anywhere. Before handling the product, I was initially concerned about the gap the plate would create between the stock and receiver, but it is minimal and makes no impact on the handling of the shotgun. I used my standard set-up with BFG vest adapter and short loop. The sling plate makes the connection point much higher than a loop attachment on it's own. This keeps the strap out of your face when shouldering the shotgun, something I found somewhat problematic with the loop around the stock. In and around the thick forest terrain of northern MB, ducking under and through branches and trees, if something is going to fail or present as problematic, it will show it's face here. Not a single complaint here, 48hrs in the woods. It also looks damn cool. I am very happy with this sling plate, and highly recommend it. If you are thinking about getting one, do it!

Yes, it is a little further away - actually, I find it a bit nicer - more natural. Maybe I have longer fingers.:)

I have small hands and it makes no noticable difference. I may cook up a black rubber spacer.

Another sucessful hunt with the Fabarm. Good gear keeps the focus on the game. The sling plate shrugged off Winchester supreme turkey loads... 3" max dram 2 oz of shot. This is the heaviest recoiling 12G shell I have shot in my life. "One shot, one kill..." :D

The pack is a monsoon gearslinger, (bought from daves surplus! )

With Blue force gear's Vest adapter and short loop(Black, both from oneshottactical!) around the S & J sling plate. :D

Nine what choke did you have on your turkey slaying shotgun? :)

Also thanx again for the sling, and pack info, I'm going to try the same set-up for my Grouse, and deer hunt this year.

It looks like Nine was using the Extra-Long Full choke on the turkey.

When I get one of BBB's adapters I'll try to rig up a DIY sling system. MEC and other outdoor stores sell webbing by the meter as well as the various clips and doodads. If it turns out half decent I'll post my results.

Or you could save gas, time and energy just getting a Blue Force Gear one which come in 3 colors, are IR coated, are modular (so if you get a Sig or HK you just get a new adaptor), will not slip or fail and guaranteed for life. :D

yup, the "extra long" full choke. :D

I am really happy with the set up I have going, very comfortable and user friendly.

Ah, I just checked your site. I didn't realize they were so inexpensive. You're right, not really worth the time to make my own.
