I was curious if anyone has dealt with S&J Hardware in the past. Back in August when Trudeau announced they wanted to ban all semi automatic rifles I went on the hunt for a BCL-102. I found S&J Hardware online and confirmed with them through email that they had the FDE version available. I immediately ordered the rifle and sent in my payment. The next day I received an email stating that they didn't have any in stock but a shipment was expected in the coming weeks. We are now half way through September and I'm still being told it will be another week.

Has anyone dealt with this company and if so were they a respectable company?
 
Ordered a few things from them over the years with no issues. Anecdotal, I know, but they seem to be legit. Always easy to deal with.

Also, if the order is coming from the US, it can be months, not weeks. Things move slowly on the restocking front, generally.
 
My first transaction was great, ordered some items, arrived quickly, no problems.
2nd time I sent a considerable list of mods and parts that I wanted, and got no response whatsoever so I ended up spending my $ at Tacord

I find their service inconsistent.

I've had orders shipped the day or the next day after being placed and them not shipping out orders until 2 weeks AFTER the transfer was approved and a couple of emails. I'd have a look through their forum and posts so you can form your own opinion on their service and how they respond to questions/comments, etc.
 
Thanks for the feedback. I don't mind waiting for the rifle to be back in stock, it's the lack of communication and unanswered emails that concern me. I'll give it another week before I decide on a refund for the order.
 
I had an issue with one of his barrels. He responded to me at first and said he'd get back to me..........then radio silence and no further communication.

I won't use his products anymore and I advise everyone I know to do the same.

But Simon does sometimes sends out a really cool T-Shirt with your order. Nobody online hits at 100% these days. I've always been shipped what was ordered. Try ordering something from Rona these days; you'll end up wondering how the world keeps turning.
 
I’ve ordered from them twice or three times in the last two years, transactions have been 100%. The left handed jumbo 870 safety’s I received were recalled due to tolerances between manufacturing years and 870 clones, I was refunded my money on them and I tried them on my express and grizzly anyways. Both fit and function 100% in my shotguns, I will order from S&J again. They have been great to deal with, quick shipping on anything I’ve bought.
 
they design great products, but I will never buy direct from them again and will rely only on their dealer network if I need any part made by them.
Their CS is really hit and miss.
 
Ordered quite a few parts and a couple of firearms over the years & never had a problem.
I have heard that one of the owners does have a health issue that sometimes cripples him and spends some time getting treatment in the hospital so that could be the delay?
 
Thanks for the great feedback. As this is my first online firearm order and seeing as I've already paid the $1,800 I just wanted to be sure I wasn't being ripped off.
 
+1 to this; Simon and company are honest and good quality people. I've only had three transactions but all were near perfect.
All on time with good updates. It helps cause they communicate often.

There are good vendors on CGN and this is definately one.
 
It's a small operation, which can have hiccups. That said, their goods are top-notch, and Simon is very personable when you can get ahold of him. You need not fear dealing with S&J!

you are free of course to post on CGN and ask about us.
but just wondering why,
we have had 3 emails back and forth this day withing the space of 3 hours.
so i dont think our Com,s are lacking.
you even replied to us.

As for our customer service, we are a small company, that make very high quality products, and we do retail other people products.
you will find dozens of people that have had issues with us over the last 16 years.
most of those issues are legit, many of them are not.
we do endeavor to do the best job we can.
But as its been noted here a few times I have some major health issue, so there are times things get back up or missed.
we do have a network of dealers across Canada, which helps for those looking for products we make.
when it comes to products we dont make, we are at the mercy of the wholesaler, if we have an issue suck as quality control, back orders or wrong item shipped.
could our customer service be better, damm right it could!
we work on that every day, if we make a mistake or times are longer or we miss something , its not us not caring, it just us being Human.
no ones bats 100%
when you have been doing this for as long as i have, no one remebers the good things you do just evey little mistake you make.
But on that note, if anyone has any missing products they have paid for at anytime please contract me direct and we will sort it out.
Yes you may have to ask us a few times.
I will not screw anyone.

Thanks Simon, I was just doing some checking, as I stated it's my first online order of a firearm and I was just curious if anyone has had issues in the past. With that said most comments were positive and I have no issues waiting another week for the order to arrive.
