S&K #4 scope mount

Out of curiousity....what are people thinking my price point will be on these?

The S&K sells for $65 or $87 (Depending on which model you get for the Enfield)

Their product is Aluminium.

Mine starts out as a billet of cold rolled steel and I take away all the bits that don't belong.

I have 7 individual operations on each part left now, so progress is going well, and I expect most of the machine work to be done by mid-week. I have one set of rails left to cut before I move on to those last 7 operations.

Well, we're done.

Just have to run them through the park tank.

I spent a couple hours in the shed this evening...that's where the sand-blaster cabinet is hiding.

I got up close and personal with the sandblaster, then did a bit of work with a camp stove and some Parkerizing compound. Test fitting on 3 seperate Enfield actions (2x #4 and 1x#5) is following tomorrow. I want to make sure things fit properly.

Oh, and one has been spoken for and installed. We'll see when we can get it out for a range test!

OK,

Just collimated 9 of the 10 to a #4 Mk 1* that I had hanging about. (The 10th one was picked up by an anxious friend yesterday after the parkerizing was finished....it was still warm!!!)

Two tiny issues. One rear sight screw will need a tiny shim. One locking wedge sits a bit proud, and prevents the bolt from being removed. Not a problem on a #4 Mk 1, but a problem with the Mk 1*. Easy fix.

I'm lining up a product tester....more to follow.

Someone was asking what the mount looks like on a rifle....and another person asked whether or not an Elcan would fit.

So, here ya go...

To the best of my knowledge, this is the only existing no gunsmithing steel Lee Enfield scope base that accepts an Elcan scope.

Note, the rails are NOT STANAG 1913, due to profile. The rail spacing and depth will allow these scopes to be mounted.

Observe:

Rail only:

And, for those with a more modern bent, here's the Specter DR:

Yes....I realize that the cheek-weld on this setup would be absolutely horrible...but hey, someone asked, so here ya go!

And, after looking at these photos, I think I need to tidy up my desk! LOL

So, a test sample has been sent out, along with one picked up locally. I have a 3rd that seems to be spoken for, that leaves a few...if you're interested, drop me a line for details. Shipping to BC was $12.67
