S , L and LR all in same rifle?

Depends which semi-auto....;)
 
Sub-sonic .22 loads work well for pest control. Basically turns your rifle into a souped up air rifle. Minimal noise and very little chance for ricochet. If you want to really rack up a score on tree rats, however, go buy several rat traps and drill two holes through the wooden base and screw them to a tree trunk, bait the trap with peanut butter and you'll quickly clean out the local vermin population.

Interesting thread. I've shot lots of tree rats with an ugly old air rifle that was given to me. You don't need 1000 fps, unless you are shooting "long range". My Dad had a real dislike for red squirrels chewing holes in his granaries. He used his old Tobin 12 ga.. There were "shot patterns" on several bins!:p
 
Thanks for the replies, info , and safety warnings fellas. So the key is that not all magazines feed shorts and lr's , while tube mags generally have no problem. savage mk2 apparently is able to feed without issue.
