I am just wondering if anyone collects these magazine as I believe I have the first 3 or 4 years plus others and the "Be A Man Among Men" posters. These are too heavy to ship but if there was interest I would take them to local gun shows. Not sure what I have but just seeing if there is interest before I dig them out. -

I have a good time reading them, plenty of interesting and entertaining articles and the classifieds are a hoot. I bought a large quantity of them at a local charity book sale a couple years ago. I tried to pick out all that mentioned Rhodesia (personal interest). I was paying 50 cents per magazine, I have no idea if that's a bargoon or daylight robbery... Guaranteed if I was interested in them, others will be too.

Had all off the first 5-6 years worth of issues.
Interesting how at the time they thought how heroic the Taliban were for fighting the Evil Soviet Empire.
Even interviewed Ben Laden and had tea with him.

Sort of like how the U.S. relationship with Ho Chi Minh soured after WW2.

The gun articles were always very informative. Think they brought the first news to the west of the Soviet AK 74 and it's small caliber. They got sued and lost over a classified ad that resulted in a paid hit on someone. Apparently some people took these ads seriously.

I remember when it first came out Robert Brown was asking to support the magazine with a 100 dollar lifetime subscription. It was ok in the day.

Was just thinking the other day about this as well...taking up a lot of space in my "study". I have retained the years from about 1992 until it went digital...also have a selection of earlier issues. All in as new condition.....know to be "anal" about such things...LOL! Also, American Survival Guide, S.W.A.T etc....Great reads....

Not the Taliban, it was the Mujahideen. The Taliban came later.

Read some of Tom Clancy's earlier books, and his tongue-bathing of the Mujahadeen will prove ... "interesting". Of course, that was before the stuff about the Blind Sheik really surfaced...

The pre internet, pre pc. adverts were fun.

I was like 12/13 when I started buying any Gun magazines, alwayz remembered those $5.95 Pellet Gun adverts..lol Was like a 44 Magnum, & a Sten Gun one, 38 Snub Nose etc..alwayz wished I ordered one, but don't think they shipped to Canada. Also, the Full Page HK {93} maybe ad. with the Mercenary type in the water, behind a log or something, wearing some face paint & a bandana, that ad made me want to be a Soldier/Mercenary & love H&K Rifles!
