S&W 1911 (E-Series) Experts - Please Chime In

I just got my S&W 1911 e-series and took it to the range.

I love the it, but don't love the sights. Definitely need to be upgraded. I read the standard aftermarket 1911 sights won't work, these have a proprietary dovetail cut?

Has anyone upgrade theirs on this pistol?
