S&W 1911's

Had one of the Todd Jarret Custom shop units in 38Super....
Ran like a train....accurate (for me!)...great trigger.
All in all a very nice unit...
People comment on the external extractor..." not a real 1911"..but I think that they are confusing the S&W with some early external extractor Kimbers that were supposed to have problems.....
All in all, the S&W 1911's are very nice....two thumbs up!

Got a first production one. Add to it a mag-well and a amb thumb safety, it is my IPSC gun. The tool never fail on me, accurate and reliable. I am at the 20k rounds trought it, no part had need to be fix or change because of a break. The external extractor is ejecting the case 3 to 5 feet to my right. S&W always have external extractor on there semi, they got the needed experience to make it work.

Excellent gun overall.

Here is a photo of my S&W 1911:

The only modifications that I've done to are to install a Tech-Well (and the corresponding Aluma-Grips) and Dawson fibre optic front sight. It's also had a trigger job done by Gunnar at ARMCO.

I placed 5th Sharpshooter (out of 18) at the 2008 Arizona IDPA State Championships. (and that was before the FO front sight and trigger job)

Since then I've made 'Expert' classification with the gun with a time of 106.04 seconds.

Barleyfeeder, if you are in the Calgary area and want to put some rounds through my S&W 1911, send me a PM. ;)
