Forget the bluebook. What would be the value in Ontario of a nice blue or nickel one with a 5" or 6" barrel, a shooter NOT a safe queen. Thanks

A blued 5" in excellent condition would be between $800 and $900 add $100 for the nickel finish and substract $100 for a 6" version. Add $100 if it comes with papers and presentation case. Add another $100 to $150 if it's LNIB.

Thanks Harry. That seems reasonable, so why are they so hard to find, I thought they would be worth more based on them being a "show star" gun for S&W.

Because folks like them so much that they simply do not sell them too often.

Another all time classic if you're shooting mostly .38Spl or at least heavier bullet Magnums is the Model 19. K frames are simply juicy.... :D

27-2 were the last of the old S&W recesses and pined guns, they also had a very nice bluing at this time frame. the gun to get is the 5"er but just pay the fellow the $1K and have fun, its probably the best set up Smith evere made with Target type sights, it a compromise between the compact 4" and the target 6"ers. I wish I had my 625 5"er back one of the most acurate revolvers I ever had from Smith, only thing was I wish it were blued, like the old model 25's and models of 1950 and 1955. Best to keep a grand stashed away for one of the 27-2 5"ers pops up! Good Luck, Dale Z!

I had a 5incher and let it go a few years back, I'm still kicking myself for it. I saw one on Armcos webpage a while back for something like $1200 and as ridiculous as that sounds it sold.
