S&W 29 question

Hey Nutz,

I have a 29-2 in otherwise excellent condition, but the cylinder release latch is very stiff. Any idea why?

Open the cylinder, does the Thumbpiece moves freely?

With the cylinder open, press the Center Pin flush with Extractor, does it move freely?

The thumb piece does move freely with the cylinder open. The centre pin also moves freely, but it's stiff - not as stiff as the entire assembly with the cylinder closed though.

Then the thumbpiece is fine and the problem lies in the Ejector assembly.

Push and hold the Center Pin forward, look for a burr at the front of the Center Pin, it is inside the Ejector Rod.

Are you familiar with removing the Cylinder assembly from the frame?

Are you familiar with disassembly of the Cylinder assembly?

Do you want to attempt to?

Check that the ejector rod isnt unscrewing
