S&W.357 V-Comp 627 Two Tone

I just took delivery of this beauty from Ellwood Epps. They are a first-class act and fun to visit because of the eclectic nature of the store building.

I shot the 627 for the first time last night. What a sweet thang she is. I first tried target loads of .38 WC which were a total non event except for the hole appearing where it should. Switching to full load .357's was a blast. The revolver lets you know that it's there but so easy to control. The compensator takes most of the muzzle flip out of the game and the front sight is back on the "Bull" almost instantly. It came with Ahrends round wood grips and a set of rubber square butt Hogues which I haven't tried yet. This is my first revolver and just a wonderful addition to my growing group of high-end toys. I am a happy camper.

I have the Stainless version, it's my only revolver and I love it.

S&w 627

I had originally ordered the stainless model and after waiting three months before calling S&W and finding out that it wouldn't go into production for a long time gave up. The gal there suggested the two tone which had been my second choice all along. The gun is just amazing. Sorry I can't post a pic as for the life of me I can't figure out how despite reading all the help I can find. If someone can guide me into the drill for positng pics in albums I will put up a shot of this one and another of my "best boy"; a SIG X-Five with Nill grips

My next project for the X-Five is to have Bruce Gray do his full package of magic. He lightens several areas and hones everything that moves. Of course that includes a trigger job on a gun that is all ready amazing. From what I can see Gray is the undisputed king of SIG gunsmiths in the US. He claims to turn out the fastest IPSC "production" gun on the planet. All of this for just $750.00. The downside is that I will lose the gun to him for six weeks or so. luckily I will have the S&W to play with during that time and won't go into a major depression waiting.
