Hi guys

Thinking of selling this. Don't know the round count.
It is in nice shape and still accurate. I don't know the year it was made.

The picture of the target is at 15 standing, two handed, 6" target

What do you guys think I could get for this?

That'd be the 7" Smith 41? Not 'legal' for formal ISS target shooting. Too long. Hence there's not a lot of demand. So a grand may be high.

If you want a better estimate post partial serial number, good pictures of both sides, what else is included and show me the back of the slide.

Recently I lucked into a deal on four decent .22 target pistols,

one of which is a 5 1/2" model 41.

This is actually my 2nd short barreled 41. The 1st:redface: I foolishly sold years ago when I got the burning desire for a Walther GSP with all the .22 & .32 'trimmings'. :(I should've kept it as it differed from this one in that it had the extendable front sight.

with whats shown in the picture 850-900 is the going norm for a 41 in excellent condition........if they sell at that..well thats another question.
Price it in the EE and everytime you have to bump it knock a couple bucks off until you get down to your bottom number, its possable that you stole it for 600 or paid way to much for it so I have no idea what you need to get out of it to be happy........

I paid 700$ 2 years ago for one with 7" barrel & perfect operating condition. The lad wanted 1000$ but could not sell at that price. Yours appear in better condition: if it shoots as beautiful as it look, I would ask for at least 850$. That said, I'm no expert, just my experience.

The long barreled model like you have does not sell near as well as the shurter barreled ones do, For awhile there was three of them for sale at the same time on the EE. I would think from $700 to $850 would be the bottom and the top end for your gun. It will all depend if you find someone at that time you list it that wants the long barrel version. You see the shorter barreled ones listed from $800 to $1000 but I don't really know what they end up selling for.

:redface:Can I sneek in here as well?? TAH****.

Johnn, I found this on another forum:

"I've was looking at the Ser.# List. Mine, which I hope to receive tomorrow has a Ser.# TAH299X. I believe the list dates it at around 1986? I called S&W today & he said the Ser.# is February of 1996. I asked about the Ser. numbering & he stated they are not in consecutive order years, at least for the Model 41. He said they have certain Blocks of Ser.#'s that haven't been unused for over fifteen years. I believe the Ser.# list is probably 99.9% correct."

Thanks for the assistance, much appreciated. Mine is TAH68**.

Interesting list. Mine is A8263xx. Assuming the given serial is for the start of the year, it does not sound right that S&W made more than 28,000 copies in 1982. Am I reading this wrong or this is a normal production run?
