S&w 41

Excellent rim fire pistol. Long out of of production if I'm not mistaken. Mine is a 5-1/2 barrel and it is finicky about what I feed it. It takes Remington standard velocity target ammo really well so I bought 10 bricks or so years back. I'll probably pass it on, along with some remaining ammo, to my grandkids, laws willing.

You are mistaken, I just purchased a brand new one last spring, and they are still being produced.Wild West in Edmonton still has one listed as being in stock.

There's a model 46, similar firearm, that's no longer in production. But yup, can still buy the 41.

Dante sports in Mtl has a used one for about 999. Think you can see them used for 7-900, depending on age and condition.

New? probably $1000-1200 if you shop around. Don't have any current specific leads but maybe try some of the SW dealers- they could likely get you one in.

In the early 80's I purchased a M41, 5-1/2" heavy barrel. It is a beautiful gun, very accurate, but a lemon as far as functioning goes. I have tried most brands of ammunition but I get at least 2-3 malfunctions per box of 50 (sometimes more depending on ammunition). It's a rare day when I can fire a box of 50 without some sore of malfunction. Sometimes it fails to feed, fails to extract or fails to eject. I should have immediately returned it for replacement or warranty repair, but . . . :bangHead:

Doesn't SW have a lifetime warranty for the original owner?

got mine in 68 worked great, out shot [or at least as good as] the rest, sent back to smith in 04, for a tune up[158.00] . still working fine & as good as my GSP expert, no fussier on ammo than any fine target pistol.
