We newly inherited a unused 422 and would love to have more than one
Magazine.Anyone know where I can get extra magazines in canada? Iv searched and can't seem to find a place.

Good luck. I had one for 4 years, and ended up selling it with the ONE mag I bought it with. The mags are rarer than hens teeth. I bought some model 41 mags (after much searching, and eventually internet advice) and there is a "retention" slot cut in the mags that is in a different place than the 422/622 mags, so they kept "self-ejecting".
I was told they were interchangable, but they aren't. DON'T FALL FOR THAT ONE.

Dang would be nice to have extras! Thanks for the info and the tip, I did read that they were interchangeable on one site.

I had both types of mags and the retention slot on the Model 41 mags is not as long as the retention slot cut into a 422/622 mag. That's why the mags fall out of a 422/622/2206. I'm pretty sure if you extend the mag retention slot buy filing or slowly dremelling it longer and it will work. The slot in the older 41 mag is in the same location but only cut shorter. Mags are not that rare. I just bought 2 of them from Cabelas in Edmonton 3 months ago for $49.99 each. I also bought 4 of them from Brownells 2 months ago for $27.72 but they are on backorder right now. Sporteque.ca has 4 of them in stock but they are asking $63.99 each.

Pretty cheap compared to a Weatherby Mark XXII 5 and 10rd .22lr magazine. I bought 5 of them (2-5rd and 3-10rd) at a cost of $75 +GST each.

Model 41 mags can be easily adapted to fit by extending the notch for the magazine lock so it smoothly comes around the front of the rounded forward face. It's pretty easy to do this with a little care using a jeweler's file. The upper edge is the one which needs to be kept in line. If in doubt let it angle down and away from the upper opening by a little then dress it a little at a time until it clicks smoothly into the gun.

You're in for a treat. They are a great shooter and mine has proven to be highly reliable. I doubt I see it have trouble with anything more than one or two rounds out of 500. And it may not even be THAT many. In fact I don't recall the last time it jammed or failed to fire as long as I wasn't feeding it oddball ammo.

They definetly do not like the more squared off nose shape of hollowpoint rimfire bullets. So stick with the more rounded nose shapes like CCI Blazer and Federal 525, Champion and the like. Waxed or copper washed doesn't seem to matter as long as it's a rounded and tapered nose on the bullets.
