Hey all, i have a colleague looking to sell an S&W 44 mag ~ 20 years old with only about 100 rounds through it. Any feedback on this gun/problems/suggestions and/or know how much they're worth roughly? I'm quite new to handguns so am a bit wet behind the ears on specs and reliability.

Thanks

"...feedback on this gun..." What model? A 29? A 29-what? Barrel length? Trigger job? You need to provide more info.

20 years old suggests that it's one of the later models. But it's still from the Age of Quality for S&W guns. If you hanker for a .44Mag then buy it if the price isn't over the top. They are superbly great guns to shoot and are very accurate as well.

You WILL want to get into reloading for this caliber if you do not reload already. .44Mag ammo is running up around a buck or more a pop. I can reload for it at around 20 to 22 cents per shot. And the best part is that you can tailor your loads to find the sweet spot for stoutness without beating up your hand(s).
