S&W 617 came home today: Picture added

I picked it up today and brought it home. Being that it was one of those impulse buys I had myself a little concerned, tonight's actually the first time I could take a real good look at it. Have to say, so far, I think it's a keeper. I really wasn't looking for another .22 but I'm glad now that that I went for it. I'll try to post pic's tomorrow, and see what all you think.

Nice looks like a clean gun. Just curious, how much did you pick up the 617 for?
I paid $650 for it. It is clean and tight. I had secound guessed myself when I first bought it because I really wasn't looking for a .22, and I didn't look it over real well when I put the deposit on it. Just had a gut feeling that I wanted it when I seen it. Now that I have it, I think I'll keep it, no regrets.

Only change I have made was got rid of the fancy looking wood grip & change for a Hogue Monoque grip of the stippled rubber. That makes a big difference in the feel of the weight for a 6" bbl.

Mind you I sold my old Model 17 with 7 3/8" bbl to my best h/gun friend then gotthe feeling of being empty with two semi-auto High Std guns & bought the 617 around 5 yrs ago.
