S&W 627 PC...Wow....

I've always enjoyed shooting 45ACP….so here's my newest addition. S&W Performance Center 625 5":)

This is a nice one, recoil of the 45 ACP must be very light... Congrat... JP.

that 625 must be a very sweet shooter in 45, the amount of torque doesn't hits the wrists like the 44 . nice PPC or SP challenge gun, i'm curious as how it handles with the PC tune up.

I guess it could be on par with my 627 using 38 Spl, i bought some 38 to try them... JP.

This is the best shooting HG I own. Love the brass front sight. It's very easy to pick up and the PC tune up makes the trigger very crisp in both SA & DA.
45ACP is my favourite round to shoot. Has a linear push/pull recoil and makes big holes.

Think you'll find them especially nice for target ..try some 148 wadcutters they are amazing

I've only blasted jacketed ammo (my supply for semi's). Since I no longer have any 45ACP semi autos I'll have to pick up some wadcutters.
I'm guessing there's more maintenance involved shooting WCs?…e.g. cleaning lead out of the barrel grooves

Do you have to use the moonclips all the time... JP.

The shells don't have a rim so the extractor can't do its job without the moon clips….but yes, mc's aren't "really" necessary.
MC's allow me have my ammo ready to drop in and the spent casings stays nicely together when "ejected".

i start to think i wouldn't say no to a PC 627 loll....it shoots both .357 and +p 38. i'd use it for the occasional steel challenge. would be perfect although might have to work on my moonclip fu lolll.

We will try it with 38 this week Sig and i will bring the moonclips they supplied with the revolver... JP.

cleaning lead out of the barrel grooves

Have 2 625-3's. Shoot tons of lead through them. Bring 20-30 plated with you and run them through the gun at the end of the day. They will take all the lead out of the barrel.
Then clean up at home is quick and easy.

A lot of guys that compete with them use 38 short colt Starline brass with Hearthco or TK Custom moonlips. Shorter in length, more like the 45 acp, easier to speed reload with them.
Think that was what Rob Leatham was using when he won the 2014 Revolver Nationals.

Tactical....that's a great tip! My problem at the moment is trying to find some wadcutter's from a site Sponsor or even in the GTA. Any one have any suggestions?
fyi...the moon-clips I'm using are polymer and were cheap($$). Easy on...easy off. The metal ones can be a PITA removing the casings from the rings.

Leverevolution 140 gr out of the 627 are extremely accurate but real powerfull.... Last Wenesday, rainy day at le RN + Leverevolution + couple of members = Great fun factor... JP.

Not at all they sit really deep in the case..and I also use the plated version that smoke less and leaves no perceivable lead
