S&W 629 4.2 inch at the range... Video up...

I've taken a real liking to the VZ Grips for square butt guns. They are perfect for a one-hand hold for me and have a high enough relief behind the trigger guard that I can get my web right up behind the frame knuckle. I've got them on my 586 and Model 25 so far - they make the N-frame feel more like an L and sure beat the stock wood grips.

Unfortunately, while they plan on making ones without finger groove for the round butt later this year, they've no plans to make conversion grips.

I picked out a couple likely looking ones on ebay to gamble on in the meantime. If that doesn't pan out I'll see about some ahrends retro target ones or something..

I do have a Model 69 that will be coming my way in a few weeks, courtesy of an excellent member here. Looking forward to it. I already love the dainty little 66. In many ways it's like the old Model 10 I had growing up, except in .357, stainless, better sights, and not prohib.

^ Much thanks, I now have the RedHawk dilemma myself! That Ruger looks like a keeper and although Wolverine's prices are a tad on the high side, I don't see anyone else stocking new RedHawks. 4.2 inch will bark and torque like a mother, I'm not sure I'd be able to hit anything aside from a barn door with it!? :)

Range work today with my Glock G17L / Ruger SBH 44 Mag 10.5 inch / S&W 627- 8 Times 357 Mag.... Posting videos later... JP.

I would be interested in a comparison between your Dan Wesson 1911, Colt Gold Cup and your Sig Nightmare Carry 1911.

As for me I am waiting on trying out a "new to me" Colt Combat Elite 1911 and Sig Nitron 1911 for comparison. Unfortunately, my wife has been away to Japan caring for her cancer stricken mother since Feb. 8th and will return April 24th, so I am watching the children.

I envy the time JP has to compare all of these new pistols! There is a time and season for everyone I guess, but I am truly having my patience tested until the end of April! Until then, just prowling the forums with envy! Ugh...
