Dropped by Al Simmons gun shop yesterday and they haad just gooten in a supply of the S&W 686 with the 5" barrel and a 7 shot unfluted cylinder.
DAMN is that one ###y little gun.:adult:If I hadn`t blown my wad on 3 new guns this week I would definatly have left with one of those bad boys.
Time t start eating KD and saving my pennies.:p

I'm going to have to take a run up to Epps this wknd and "talk" to Dave about getting me one! Wonder what Buffalo GC is asking for it....hmmm?

Well I did it!
Drove up to Epps to have a look at the HG. The three that Epps had listed on the site were all sold but I did get a chance to "fondle" the last one that hadn't been picked up by the buyer(yet). All I can say is it a beauty!
The trigger was very smooth out of the box and the weight was perfect in my hands. The 5"bbl and unflutted cylinder looked very trick IMO. Dave indicated that they are a limited run for the Canadian market and that he had 2 more coming in.
To make a long story short I have one in my name paid in full and should be getting it in about a month:D I'll be going straight to the range once I pick it up.
Here's a pic of it but I'll be posting my own once I get it home....I love revolvers and it will fit right in with my growing collection!

Don't understand why you would want to amputate a perfectly nice piece. Keep it, shoot it and enjoy it...

well its not going to be any less accurate but it will be easier to weild and point not to mention look proportional

RR that is some seriously not good advice to give me ;)

9mm....I considered doing the same but glad I didn't.
Like RR said, keep the 6" 686 and start a revolver collection;)

My local store has been trying to get one in for me the past few days. If he can't get me a firm answer by Saturday I'll be calling TSE Monday. His wholesaler has told him that there are a limited number of this particular 686 and that it was indeed a 'special' run. Damn, CGN....everytime I peruse the threads I see another 'must have'.....;)

I think you might want to move on the purchase if you want one.
I stayed away from this forum all summer and the day I logged back on and read this thread I had to go out and get one. But am I glad I did 'cause I might have missed out on this beauty!

I'd prefer to stay with the six rounder 686 I have rather than have to buy all new speedloaders. Also my little brain would have to adjust to the extra round. PPC is also geared to the number 6 in the various stages. Don't like the look of the unfluted cylinder either. Price is definitely good though at TSE.
