What would you guys estimate as the value of this gun? It is a NIB un-fired 686-3 with rare factory 5" barrel & un-fluted cylinder. Please consider that it comes with a Hogue rubber mono-grip, not the used factory walnut target stocks pictured here. Thanks in advance.

There was a big problem with the unfluted ones. Ship it to me and after I shoot it for a few years, I'll deem it safe and ship it back to you. :D

NICE REVOLVER

You'll love shooting it. The .38s are nice and cheap to shoot targets all day too. I'm not a great shot, but I can get some VERY tight groups with my 6" barrel 686 with a Pachmyer grip. Ten times more accurate than any of my autos

Nice gun, I love the unfluted cylinder(is there an echo in here?)I think the barrel is kinda long , but nice looking chunk anyway.Let us know how well it shoots.

I'm with the crowd that loves the unfluted cylinder.
When I went "shopping" I also wanted a S&W revolver 5"bbl with unfluted cylinder. The 627 Performance Centre fit the bill but I couldn't track one down. Ended up getting the fluted cylinder. I find the 6"bbl on my 686 a little nose heavy but the 5'' 627 is well balanced (maybe the 'N" frame also helps).

Enjoy your new wheel gun!

Dandy looking Smith, wish it was mine as I'd put it to good use and if you ever get tired of it please PM me.Just as a precautionary though you may want obscure the serial number on you prized possesion as less than honest elements out there can possibly trace it's travels to you and that brother could have a negative ending. Not to be a worry wart but I have seen this very statement made on other occasions where the serial # or other pertinent info was clearly visible and the friendly advisary was made there also. We've got to stick together in this world of anti's and criminally intent.
