S&w 696

I'm in the market for a 5 shot big bore revolver. Initially I was thinking of a Charter Arms Bulldog but am now thinking of a S&W 696. What can CGN members tell me about this revolver? What frame size is it built on? Are they even available in Canada?

Prohib, no? I quickly googled it and only found 3 inch barrelled versions.

If you have 12/6, then no problem...just need to find one

Production of the 696 begun in 1996, unfortunately this 3" model was never imported to Canada.
So even if you have 12/6 it's not available, sorry.
