S&W M&P 15-22 short barrel?

I have been reading several interesting threads about Dlask 8.5" and 12.5" barrels for Ruger 10/22's. This has got be thinking...does anyone make a shorter barrel for the M&P 15-22? Since it is already restricted, there would be no concern about maintaining a 26.5" OAL. It has a free floating barrel and a plastic fore end that could easily be shortened. If anyone has seen a pic of an M&P 15-22 with a 8.5" (or similar) barrel I would sure appreciate it if you could post a pic or a link.

6" pistol barrel

Here is a 6" barrel. Picture is from the S&W Archives, it seems they don't sell the pistol anymore. Great.... so there is no longer a 15-22 pistol, but we (15-22 rifle owners) are all restricted to 10 rounds, you can still buy a Ruger 10-22 pistol, and they (10-22 rifle owners) can have unlimited magazine capacity. How is this fair?

Really ticked off these can't be had in a Non-Restricted version... ...and for a rimfire no less...doesn't make a lick of sense considering some others that are non-rest!!!
