Quick question for you pistol folks, I know with certain firearms, you can take a 40 caliber gun, with a 45 caliber magazine, load it with 40 caliber rounds and go over the 10 round limit. Word is we might be switching to 40 cal M&P's at work, anyone know if the 40 and 45 cal magazines are interchangeable?

You will not get .45 rounds to feed from a .40 mag.

The .45acp has a larger frame than the 9/40 series. The mags won't fit. Some mags with some guns will feed 9MM rounds using a .40cal mags. Not sure what the benefit is other than it can be done in some cases.

Take Care

Just a friendly reminder.....Your employer, that supplies your gun, ammos and training has to follow strict Canadian gun and permit laws. There is a reason why your company orders M&Ps with 10 rounds....
Employees, are not allowed to modify mags, springs, triggers, holsters or change the ammos supplied. (Only grips).

OK

Plus, I would not use a mag not designed for that specific calibre in a gun for work. If it mis- feeds when you need it, you could be screwed. eg using 9's in a .40 mag.

Businesses and their employees may have full capacity magazines. A extra box needs checked on the business firearms license application.

The Ontario CFO is not approving the prohibited mags. Nova Scotia may be allowing them.

The problem is the mags could ONLY be used/carried while at work or at company training. It would only be a matter of time until someone decided to take thr work mags to their own range to use in their own gun for a night. The moment the empoyee clocks out with the mags on them they are commiting a criminal offense and the employer would also be in trouble for failing to secure the mags.

Stupid Canada: If the CFOs allowed it, it would be legal for armoured staff to use 15/17 round mags to shoot people (we required) but not to shoot paper.
