does anyone know (for certain) what the trigger pull weight is for Smith and Wesson M&P 9mm or .40 S&W IN THE RANGE AND CARRY kits?

If you go to the S&W website and search SKUs the 9mm is 209331, the 40 is 209330, you will see it gives a variety of specs, however trigger pull poundage is not given.

If you look at the above guns separately (not sold in a kit), they are sold in either 6.5lb trigger pull or 10lb trigger pull (or 4.5lb in their Pro series).

I've asked SFRC, Frontier Firearms, Cabelas, Wolverine Supplies and S&W itself as to what the trigger pull weight us Canadians are getting, and none of them have been able to answer with certainty thus far!!!!! NOTE: Frontier Firearms lists the trigger pull at 10lbs, however YouTube video reviews and a "I'm not sure" answer from S&W, say the trigger pulls are 6.5lbs for the kit.

I need this confirmed before I start ordering so if anyone can help, that would be great...

If I had a trigger pull gauge I could tell you but I don't. If I had to guess I would say the 7lbish range. It's not the greatest trigger, but lots of other m&p owners here upgrade to an APEX trigger kit, which is supposed to be the cats meow.

I have a 40 Range kit and went from a 6.5 lb trigger to about 4.5 with the Apex kit and aluminum trigger. The trigger is much better than stock now, but stock is not great at all compared to my CZ75 trigger.

But I love the M&P for all sorts of reasons. Easy to shoot and reliable as heck.

Where did you get your APEX kit? I love my M&P as well, but the trigger does leave something to be desired.

Awesome thanks. Did you install it yourself, if so how was it?

Just because of the STATT crap getting the gun to/from a gunsmith everyone in Canada does it themselves.

Really easy (you might need a light hammer and you will need a roll-punch) and APEX has great step-by-step videos on youtube.

10 pound triggers are available on the M&P, they are not stock - they're special order for police departments (like the Toronto Police Service). The stock trigger on a civillian M&P is 5 1/2 -6 1/2 pounds. The change to a 10 pounder is made by changing the the trigger bar, not by changing springs. The 10 pound trigger bar has a sharper ramp angle at the sear end.

Cool. I just find it weird that these companies selling this stuff just can't answer what the trigger pull is in the kits. Even S&W couldn't, but I guess that is the world of call centres this day and age.

Makes me madder than a midget with a yo-yo...

Actually, they have a really dumb law in Mass. that requires a 10 pound trigger - but the box says so if it's a Mass. gun

Woverine Supplies returned my call just now and actually did trigger pull tests on each kits gun and both the 9mm and .40 came back with 6.5 trigger pulls.

Curiously, I called the call centre again at Smith and Wesson to see if 'today's person' would give me a different answer than yesterday's 'i don't know, I'll get back to you' guy, and today's call centre dude said 10lbs on all kits! I'll trust Wolverine who actually did the test while I was on the phone with them.

Git R Done beeeotches!
