Has anyone had a look at one of these? I see on the S&W web site that they have one listed with 10 round magazines for sale in MA, but I hope that is not the version that they are selling up here as I see that it has a trigger pull of 10 lbs and the regular M&P is 6.5 lbs.
Also what type of barrel is in the M&P? I prefer to shoot lead so I am hoping that the barrel is regular rifling.

AFAIK the only carry kit S&W makes with a 10 rnd mag happens to have that brutal 10lb trigger.
It's ok I guess if you plan on swapping out the trigger for a lighter version, but I wouldn't want a 10lb trigger on a gun like that.

I ended up going with a regular model after I found out about the trigger weight on the carry kits.

If canada had any sort of stock on these guns I would have gone with the full size (not long) pro series M&P9
TSE had one in stock but it's long gone now.

I have heard that the Apex Tactical DCAEK will reduce the trigger weight to 5.5 lbs, as well as reduce over-travel and shorten the reset distance. I will be installing one of these on my M&P in the future.

Same question as the OP. Do they really have a 10 pound trigger pull with the range and carry kit? why not the same trigger pull as all the other M&P's
any hope the trigger is different in Canada?

Thanks for the info.
The reason for the 10 lb trigger pull is because they are made for Massachusetts where their laws state that the trigger pull has to be 10 lbs and the magazines must be limited to 10 rounds. I guess since these kits are made with the 10 round magazines they thought that Canadians would be happy with them. It is too bad that they would not offer the lighter trigger pull as an option as well for us up here. At least Apex is making parts that will reduce that trigger pull.

I don't know where you are getting your info from.

I have a M&P 9mm from the carry kit and the trigger pull is NOT 10lbs.

Difficult to believe S&W would produce a stock item with a different trigger weight. I have about 4K through my gun now and it breaks at around 5#s now.

S&W does indeed have different trigger pulls for different states. I can't say what version makes it into the range kit here yet. P&D left a message for me today that my 9mm M&P kit has arrived. Anyone else looking for them right now might wanna call them and see if they have any extras. www.p-d-ent.com

Once I have it home (early next week if I'm lucky) I will be able to answer this once and for all. Stay tuned!

I was under the impression that this is the one that was for sale here in Canada

If it isn't then that is great, do you know what the trigger pull is on the one you have?

I dry fired one at my LGS with range kit, and the mag disconnect writing on the slide was smaller than I've seen posted on here. They didn't have a gauge handy, but it sure didn't feel like 10 pound to me. It was actually pretty decent, and man, those things fit my hand like a glove. I'll try to drop by tomorrow for a trigger gauge or SKU... or early Christmas present to me...

I love early xmas presents. That's what my M&P9 is. I must really love me. :D

The 8 and 10 pound triggers have a few more "unprovements" than just heavier springs, the ramp angle of the trigger bar has been adjusted to increase resistance, the Apex carry it should reduce these triggers to 5 or 6 pounds. Standard trigger bars from Brownells cost $20.

Santa says a new to me M&P Pro will be under my tree. Boy will the wife be surprised! I think she is getting a diamond necklace. She is going to open hers present first. Daddy didn't raise no dummy.
