S&W M&P 9mm Carry & Range Kit

I purchased a M&P9 in October at Action Sports in Ottawa. They had it in stock but it wasn't the Range and Carry Kit. It only had 2 magazines(thought it came with 3). I have wet to fire it(still waiting on my ATT). Should have it by the weekend. Can't wait to put my first rounds in it.
I already love the feel of it in my hands. Its sites perfect in my palm and has a nice trigger pull to it and weight

The trigger pull will only get better. Depending on your use take a look at the Apex kit. Easy to install and it improves the trigger 100%.

I hear the APEX kit to be very good. The dilema I'm facing is switching from my personal M&P to my duty SW5946 with a 13 lbs trigger pull. I'm afraid that since I shoot my duty pistol only a couple times of year I'll have trouble qualifying with good marks.
All trigger time is good time. Just concentrate on keeping the front sight in the middle of the back and you won't have any trouble qualifying with the POS pistol you gys are asked to use. If you are with the RCMP just volunteer for the ERT team and get the SIG.
The trigger is marginally better than the 5946. I shot the SIG and wasn't impressed but then I also shoot the CZ and 1911 designs as well.Take Care

If you are using the M&P for IPSC, I don't think you will have a problem. I have a M&P and Shadow and I don't think it really affects my ability with my 5946. I will be using my duty weapon for IDPA and the shadow for IPSC.
The RCMP course of fire is static with plenty of time to make good shots. If it still worries you, practice Stage 1 (25 metres) as much as you can.
If you have good trigger control you should be able shoot well with any pistol. If you want to feel better about the 5946 try a CBSA Beretta PX4. The pull is way longer and just as heavy. Or try a Conservation officer/municipal police duty Glock. That is a very heavy break.
It made me feel much better about the 5946.
Side note: I would argue that the 5946 is more like 8-9 pounds but it depends on how much you have used it. Mine has seemed to get a little smoother over the years. My tuned shadow's DA is actually heavier than the 5946.
I'm with the HoC but all our training is done with the RCMP and I hear they put heavier triggers in our Firearms. It could be 8-9, I was told 13 but I can assure you its a pain to shoot. Maybe its me but i find it hard to be consistent with a heavy trigger like that. Some shots I'm hang firing, others I'm squeezing, others I'm snapping.
I was dry firing my M&P and didn't seem to have any of those problems. Maybe gonna be different when I'll be live firing. It might also help me get into a rythym and shelp me hoot better with the 5946. Time will tell

The range kit is a great package.5.5lb trigger pull out of the box but very gritty with a great deal over over travel.I installed the Apex AEC competition kit which makes all the difference.Well with the money.Makes this a fun gun to shoot. Installs in less than an hour.This was my first attempt at a trigger upgrade and was a piece of cake with the you-tube videos Apex Tacticle have.
The pull is now a smooth 3lb pull with no over travel.If the light pull concerns you an Apex kit is available for duty/carry which brings it back up to 5.5lbs

all i really wanted to know was where they were located. Thought somebody might know. I guess lmgtfy is the only way to find that out though.
Interesting, your kit seems to be a carry kit specifically made for Canada.
Very cool.
It will be interesting to see what all these vendors have on order, if it's the number you have or if it's the MS version with the 10lb trigger that's listed on some websites as the part number.

... So I haven't made it by my LGS but I was in Langley, so I swung by Wholesale Sports...SKU 209921.AH HA says I, this is a new number to me; get home, jump online, find that S&W would send me an M&P9L VTAC if I ordered with this number...
Still trying to get to real gun store...
I see that most of the 9mm's are sold already but they still have a few left.

I brought home my M&P9 Carry and Range kit today. I can say with 100% certainty that the trigger is 6lbs. It's crisp, with little take up. But it is gritty and has some over-travel. This should lighten up and smooth out with a few hundred rounds. The pistol was clean and not overly lubed, with only a little fouling in the barrel.
My kit came from S&W with 4(!) mags. I guess they must be feeling bad for us Canadians that are capped at 10 rounds. It's worth noting that a 4th mag does not fit anywhere in the kit, so it was jammed in on top of the mag pouch. The Uplula loader is nice, but loading the 10th round seems to be troublesome. I suspect this will change as the mag springs break in a bit. Also in the kit was a cable lock, ear plugs and a chamber flag (might be handy at the range).
The holster and mag pouch are the cheapest models Bladetech makes. That said, they are certainly suitable for range use, and hold their respective items securely. Just don't expect to be doing gymnastics and retain all your kit. Should I follow through to my Black Badge course, I will no doubt be upgrading these to something better.
Overall, I am ecstatic with this kit. As a first handgun, you can do a lot worse for $675. Thanks again to P&D Enterprises for bringing this in for me. (I see they have 1 listed on their website, call quick!)
