Well I just took the plunge back into the 9mm world by ordering a New Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm pistol.:D

After Having a look at and fondling Slavex's M&P9, I was sold.

Found some for an EXCELLENT price at Target Sports Center in Ontario.

I ended up ordering the basic model with the Novak 3 dot sights and Mag safety (which will go bye bye....).After everything was done I save over $200.00 (more like $236.50) buying from Target Sports rather then buying locally.   I also got to support a CGN sponsering Dealer as well.;)

Big Thanks to Pat & Larry at Target Sports. They were excellent to deal with.:D  :dancingbanana:

Just have to stock up on 9mm ammo & components now.............

do they have .40s?

I believe they do have some is stock as they had to check to make sure I got the M&P9..........

IIRC, the price for either is $650.00 +tax/shipping.

The Novak Night Sight models are $799.00.

I picked up an M&P in 9mm also. Taking it out for a spin on Sunday. It sure fits my hand nice with the large backstrap in place. The mags seem less than impressive though, big plastic bases that fit loosely, they don't inspire confidence.

I picked up my M&P9 from the Post Office today.:D

Took her home and checked her out, fieldstripped, cleaned, and lubed her up.

It came in a plastic S&W hardcase with two "neutered" 10 round mags and 3 back straps (Small,Medium, large).

Going to try out the Small & Medium back straps to see which works the best for me.

Over all the fit and finish is very good. The finish on the Stainless steel slide reminds me of the classic TRW black parkerising.:D

I didn't get the internal locking model, but I have the Magazine safety (which has to go!!!!), and the standard Novak 3 Dot sights (I was going to get the Novak Tritium Nite Sights, but they were $149.00 more). However I did get the latest revision of the M&P9 (Revision "N").

The M&P feels a lot more handier/lighter then the Colt 1991-A1 I just sold.

The M&P fieldstripped very easily and went back together the same.

I can't wait to get out this week and put some rounds down range with it.;)

I will add a range report after I get out and break it in.

I love that pistol, shot the 9mm version. It's on the short list.

The mag disconnect version is best to get, then modify if you want to. The non mag disconnect model has a BIG freak'n disclaimer on the slide.

Hey Skullboy, it seems Im following your lead, I am selling my new in box Unfired Springfield 1911 Gi with Armco after market 3 dot sights for a M&P. I bought a 5946 as that is what I was training with but the M&P is a lot better in every way. This N version tell me more. What is the revision? Thanx Bro.
Jack

When I drive up the TargetSports to get some federal .223 I'll definatley handle a M&P and see how it feels. I've been hearing so much about this thing its time to pick it up and see what all the fuss is about.

The "N" revision is the lasted version made. S&W slowly made changes over the course of the pistol's production.

You would have to ask Slavex about what all the changes were.............But "N" is the newest version.

I just need 4 to 6 more mags.................
